Wecho Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the Wecho mobile application ("Service") provided by an independent developer ("Operator") and define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Operator and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The following terms used in these Terms are defined as:
"Service": The Wecho application and all related services provided by the Operator
"User": Any person who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms
"Member": A User who has entered into a service agreement with the Operator and has been assigned a user account
"Message Echo": A feature that delivers text or voice messages created by users as alarms to other users
"Community Echo": A feature that allows users who set alarms at the same time to participate in real-time voice chat
"Diary": A feature that allows users to write and share diary entries with their mood
"Premium Member": A Member who uses additional features through a paid subscription
"Content": All materials created by users within the Service, including text, voice, and images
Article 3 (Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms)
These Terms become effective when posted on the Service or notified to users by other means.
The Operator may amend these Terms within the scope of applicable laws. Changes will be announced at least 7 days before the effective date, along with the reasons for the change.
If a User does not agree to the amended Terms, they may discontinue use of the Service and withdraw. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
Article 4 (Description of Services)
The main services provided by the Operator are as follows:
1. Message Echo Service
Text Message Echo: Receive text messages written by other users as alarms
Voice Message Echo: Receive voice messages recorded by other users as alarms
Message Response and Rating: Write responses and rate received messages
Self-Message Echo: Receive messages you created yourself (Premium feature)
2. Community Echo Service
Real-time voice chat with users who set alarms at the same time
Up to 8 participants at once
3D spatial audio support
3. Diary Service
Write diary entries with your mood
Image attachment feature
Comment on other users' diary entries
4. Premium Service
Ad-free experience
Self-Message Echo feature
Extended voice chat time
Recurring alarm settings
Full-period diary calendar access
Article 5 (Membership Registration)
Membership registration is completed when a User applies according to the Operator's procedures after agreeing to these Terms, and the Operator approves the application.
Registration is conducted through social login using Google or Apple accounts.
The Operator may refuse registration or terminate the service agreement in the following cases:
Using another person's information
Being under 14 years of age
Having previously lost membership due to Terms violations
Not meeting other requirements set by the Operator
Article 6 (User Obligations)
Users must not engage in the following activities:
1. Prohibited Content Activities
Posting or transmitting obscene or suggestive content
Posting content that defames, insults, or damages the reputation of others
Posting hate speech or discriminatory statements
Posting content that promotes violence, self-harm, or suicide
Spreading false information or fake news
Unauthorized posting of spam or commercial advertisements
Posting illegal or fraudulent content
2. Prohibited Service Use Activities
Unauthorized collection, storage, or disclosure of others' personal information
Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
Commercial use of information obtained through the Service without prior consent
Stealing or fraudulently using others' accounts
Infringing on the Operator's intellectual property rights
Violating applicable laws and regulations
3. Prohibited Voice Chat Activities
Using inappropriate language in Community Echo
Harassing or making other participants uncomfortable
Unauthorized recording or sharing of voice chat content
Article 7 (Content Management)
Copyright of Content created by Users (messages, voice, diary entries, comments, etc.) belongs to the respective User.
By posting Content on the Service, Users grant the Operator a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and distribute such Content for Service operation purposes.
The Operator may delete or refuse to post Content that:
Violates the prohibited activities in Article 6
Has been reported by other users
Violates applicable laws
Messages created in the Message Echo Service are randomly assigned to other users.
Voice message and Community Echo audio data is processed only for service provision purposes and is processed immediately without separate storage.
Article 8 (Software License)
The Operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Wecho application (the "Software") subject to your compliance with these Terms.
Under this license, you have the right to:
Use the Software for personal and non-commercial purposes
Install and use the Software on a single device
You must not:
Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
Redistribute, sublicense, sell, or rent the Software to others
Integrate all or part of the Software into other software or services
Remove or alter any copyright notices, trademarks, or other proprietary notices on the Software
Ownership and intellectual property rights in the Software remain with the Operator. No rights are granted to you except as expressly stated in these Terms.
The license granted under these Terms will terminate immediately upon termination of these Terms or any violation of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and delete all copies.
The Operator has no obligation to provide the Software to you and may discontinue or modify the Software at any time.
Article 9 (Service Provision and Changes)
The Operator aims to provide the Service 24 hours a day, year-round, but immediate response may be difficult due to the nature of solo operation.
Service provision may be temporarily suspended in the following cases:
System maintenance, expansion, or replacement
Force majeure events such as natural disasters or national emergencies
Other significant reasons preventing service provision
The Operator may change the Service content and will announce important changes in advance.
Article 10 (Paid Services and Payment)
The Operator provides paid subscription services for Premium Members.
Service fees and payment methods follow the information displayed within the Service.
Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store and follow their respective policies.
Recurring subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
Refunds are processed according to each app store's refund policy.
Article 11 (Reporting and Sanctions)
Users may report inappropriate content or users within the Service.
Upon reviewing reports and confirming Terms violations, the Operator may take the following actions:
Delete or restrict the relevant Content
Restrict or suspend Service use
Suspend or revoke membership
Repeated Terms violations may result in permanent Service use restrictions.
Article 12 (Membership Withdrawal and Termination)
Members may request withdrawal at any time through the settings menu within the Service.
Upon withdrawal, members' personal information and Content will be processed according to the Privacy Policy.
Membership may be terminated in the following cases:
Violation of these Terms
Interference with normal Service operation
Violation of applicable laws
Article 13 (Privacy Protection)
The Operator strives to protect users' personal information in accordance with applicable laws.
Collection, use, and provision of personal information are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.
The Service uses Firebase-based secure data storage systems.
Article 14 (Disclaimer)
The Operator is exempt from liability when unable to provide the Service due to force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, or telecommunications service interruptions.
The Operator is not responsible for Service use disruptions caused by users' own negligence.
The Operator is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of Content posted by users.
The Operator is not responsible for disputes between users or between users and third parties, or for damages arising therefrom.
The Operator is not responsible for conversation content during Community Echo (voice chat).
As this Service is operated by an independent developer, recovery from service disruptions may take time.
Article 15 (Dispute Resolution)
In case of disputes between the Operator and users regarding Service use, both parties will negotiate in good faith for amicable resolution.
If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved according to the laws of the Republic of Korea, and jurisdiction will follow the Civil Procedure Act.
Article 16 (Miscellaneous)
Matters not specified in these Terms will follow applicable laws and Operator policies.
If any provision of these Terms becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid.
Supplementary Provisions
These Terms are effective from November 25, 2025.
